Reference Databases
Reference databases are by subscription, meaning the school pays a fee to use them. Stop by the library to get the username and password to obtain access from any computer with an Internet connection.

  • SIRS Knowledge Source

Newspapers, magazines, and government publications on every topic. This is a quick, authoritative way to find articles. Try SIRS before "googling".

  • CQ Researcher

The online version of a weekly print research journal. Each issue covers a topic in depth, including an overview, background, additional resources, and a pro/con feature.

  • Encyclopedia Britannica

Wikipedia is great for quick background information, but because articles are cooperatively written and usually anonymous, it is not considered a research tool. Use Britannica for research and inclusion in works cited lists.

  • Gale Virtual Reference Library

A small online book collection. Check out the resources on history, health and environmental science.

  • NoodleBib

Create correctly formatted Works Cited lists following the online fill-in forms
