This is a practice SAT test that sophomores are encouraged to take. It will be held on our campus from 8AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday October 6. Students may sign up everyday during lunch at the Student Bank and the cost is $25.00 cash or check made out to SPHS-ASB. Results of this test will arrive in early January and we will be hosting an evening to explain the test results. The PSAT will help you and your student identify their strengths and areas in which they may need improvement in math and language arts.
Students will receive a study booklet with the sample test and test tips.
Bring:
- your student identification
- two #2 pencils
- Four-funtion, scientific, or graphic calculator. (Students may not use calculator with a QWERTY keypad, pocket organizers, pocketbooks or portable handheld computers, electronic devices that make noise or talk. Students may not share calculators.)
Cell phones and ipods may not be used for any purpose at anytime during the testing.
Students get:
- Sophomores get a peek at the format of the test in a risk free environment with advanced preparation for the test next year.
- Juniors will receive scores interpreted and related to college.
- Preparation by grade level counselors sometime in January.
- Potential scholarship rating.
- Everyone will receive, in addition to the test scores, a copy of the test and the correct answers with questions missed for analysis.
